The ECC's Teacher and Educator survey was opened to gather information and insight to the teacher workforce in our sector. The survey is open to any teachers currently employed by a centre-based education and care centre in New Zealand.

We received a total of 618 responses, which is a significant increase on last time we ran the survey. 73% of the sample had 10+ years of experience in the ECE sector and almost all (96%) of the respondents were qualified teachers. The survey also provides commentary and anecdotal feedback on working conditions and workplace concerns. Work environment emerged as the most likely reason for switching centres.
