Teacher registration funding is a positive step

Currently I am observing what seems to be an increasing focus on funding audits by the Ministry of Education. Even small errors, like a missing parent signature or a tick box, can result in funding being claimed back, which is why having good systems in place makes such a big difference.

In 2024, as part of our enviro vision to be a more sustainable centre and to teach our tamariki to be lifelong kaitiaki (guardians of our environment), Ko te Aroha Children’s Centre in Masterton began a “Drains for Rains” project – and what a fantastic project it was and continues to be!

There was no meaningful financial relief announced for ECE providers in Budget 25 - but the government’s commitment to a funding review, buried in the detail, may offer some light at the end of the tunnel.
