On 18 December 2024, the Ministry for Regulation (MfR) led an ECE Regulatory Review – the published report can be found here: Regulatory Review of Early Childhood Education.
All the recommendations made by this report were accepted by Cabinet and the sector review changes commenced as at April 2025: Beehive.
ECC contributed to this review, long awaited by the ECE sector, by undertaking extensive consultation work amongst its members, analysis and research. Based on this work, ECC presented its Submission on the Early Childhood Education Regulatory Sector Review.
