More information
Since 1 May this year, early learning services are expected to use the updated Early Learning Curriculum Framework and either implement Te Ara Whānui or Te Ara Māori. Centres and kaiako will need to make their chosen pathway visible in their curriculum, assessment, planning, and evaluation practices. It also needs to be clear to whānau and the community how the Curriculum Framework is implemented.
What has changed for kaiako? Well, actually, not that much, as kaiako are already engaged with the Principles, Strands, Goals and Learning Outcomes of Te Whāriki. This interactive workshop intends to affirm kaiako and clarify some details, using practical examples.
In this workshop, we will
- Identify the elements of the Curriculum Framework
- Discuss the pathway selection centres will have to undertake, and
- Evaluate the role of Assessment, Planning and Evaluation within the Curriculum Framework
Facilitator: Katina Beauchamp
