Surveys and Results

ECC runs regular surveys to get information and insights from the sector and give us an understanding of how we can work to promote high quality ECE in New Zealand, and support centres. See some of our recent surveys below.

Wages and Salaries Survey 2022

The Early Childhood Council (ECC) is committed to promoting high quality ECE in New Zealand. This begins with ensuring all our staff are being paid fairly and reasonable for the important work they do. Part of our approach is our annual survey which is sent out to Education and Care services, this excludes Kindergartens, Kohanga Reo, Playcentre and home based centres.

The survey was open from 7 February 2023 until the 20 February 2023. The survey was open to any teachers currently employed by a centre-based education and care centre in New Zealand.
