Get Involved in the ECC!
Nominations are now open for positions on the ECC Executive to be elected at the AGM, to be held in Auckland, 11.30am, Wednesday 19th August 2020 at a venue to be confirmed shortly.
This is a chance to be involved in the governance of your organisation and to give something back to the sector. Being on the Executive provides opportunities to network within the ECC and the wider community and to gain a deeper understanding of the sector.
We need people who are willing to contribute ideas and help prioritise issues for the organisation.
The available positions are listed below, with a short summary of any special roles in addition to a normal Executive member's role.

Attend meetings, conference, etc as required
Note: Current Executive members may re-stand if nominated (Rule 9.7.1); and others who have an interest may also stand for the two Executive positions.
The Executive meets face-to-face about four times a year. Meetings are normally held in Auckland over a half or full weekday. Executive members are expected to attend all meetings. All reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed, including accommodation if required, and food is provided. There may be other occasions during the year where a meeting is held via a video conference call or decisions are made by e-mail.
As well as attending meetings, Executive members will spend time preparing for meetings by reading papers and developing ideas, and they may also be involved in special projects. Since the ECC has a professional staff, Executive Members are not expected to work on operational matters. The emphasis is instead on providing good governance in setting the direction of the organisation and monitoring progress.

Nomination forms must be in by 5pm Sunday 19th July 2020, to The Secretary, Early Childhood Council Executive, National Office, P O Box 5649, Wellington 6140. A scanned copy of a completed nomination form is acceptable, provided the original is mailed also.
You do not have to be a financial member to be on the ECC Executive, but you must be nominated by a financial member. If you are not interested yourself, you can nominate someone else (but you will need to get his or her permission first).
