The ECC’s Annual Art Competition

The ECC holds an Art Award celebrating the imagination, talent and artistic skill of our children (and teachers) during the Centre Manager and Teacher ECC Conference.

Each conference we have a different theme. This year's theme is:

'I wish I could be...'

The competition is simple and straight forward:

  1. Entries are open to any financial member of the Early Childhood Council
  2. Entries are limited to one per centre
  3. Entries should reflect the theme and should be accompanied by a brief explanatory paragraph on the attached template that includes the extent to which the work is undirected by an adult.
  4. Entries should present original work reflecting the efforts of children from 0 to 6 years of age at the centre
  5. Entries are to be submitted on A1-size card.

Entries will be judged on their originality, the age range of the artists involved, use of colour, extent of adult direction and connection to the theme. Other media may be used in the entry, but caution should be taken over the transportability of the entry. The entry that is received is the entry that will be judged.

Prizes are sponsored. The top entry is awarded a prize consisting of up to $250.00 in cash and products and services to a value of $250.00 - so a total prize package of $500 in value.

There is also a sponsored “People's Choice Award”, with a $100 cash prize. This award is voted by participants at the ECC Annual Conference.
