The purpose of a well-structured HR system is to support employee and management to be successful in their work and reach their potential. This helps support positive outcomes for the early learners at your centre and their whānau.

The Ministry of Education’s Licensing Criteria for Early Childhood Education and Care Centres 2008 includes GMA7, a standard that requires:

  • implementation of suitable human resource management practices
  • a system for regular individual development planning and professional growth cycles
  • provisions for mentoring.
