Policy Paper - Special Education Services

This paper outlines policies that would improve substantially the delivery of special education services to ECEC (early childhood education and care) children in New Zealand.
The paper is a joint effort by 30 early childhood education practitioners and sector leaders. Input has come from the leadership of the Early Childhood Council, the Auckland Kindergarten Association, Early Childhood Leadership and Kindercare Learning Centres. It has come also from centre owners, managers and teachers from both privately run and community-run centres.

Criteria Submission To The Ministry Of Education

The Ministry of Education recently asked for feedback on the criteria component of the new regulatory structure for early childhood education. In response to this request, the ECC surveyed its members to ascertain which criteria centres ‘would have significant difficulty meeting’.
